English Demonstratives (This, That)

English Demonstratives are “this” and “that”. “This” refers to an object or person that is relatively closer than “that”.

  • “These” is the plural of “this”.
  • “Those” is the plural of “that”.

Demonstratives can be a Demonstrative Adjective or a Demonstrative Pronoun:

  • Demonstrative Adjective: I want that plate.
  • Demonstrative Pronoun: I want that.
