Learning Italian

View from San Vincenzo, Italy

Learning a foreign language can be divided into learning a number of smaller parts. I am not sure that the whole is the sum of the parts.

While learning Italian, I found that you need to intimately know much form grammar. We all speak fluent grammatically correct English. But most people do understand formal grammar. So this section introduces Italian grammar, rules and vocabulary.

Italian vocabulary is divided into groups called Parts of Speech (Parti Del Discorso). Under each of these Parts you will find rules and vocabulary for Part.

Once you know the Parts we will put them together with Sentence Structure (Struttura Della Frase). Words that do not have a (close) one-to-one translation are discussed in Which Word (Quale Parola).

This discussion in not intended to be read from end to end, but as a collection of information on different topics.

Buona Fortuna! Good Luck! Let me know if this helps you studies. This is a work in progress. Let me know which sections you need written next.
